A stretch of a busy St. Pete road is closed this morning while St. Petersburg police investigate a deadly shooting that happened in a nightclub parking lot.
Detectives say the shots were fired at 1:30 a.m. in the parking lot of The Sugar Room nightclub located at 1239 4th St S.
Police say 33-year-old Jermaine A. Long was killed in the shooting and another man was injured.
WFLA News Channel 8 crews counted at least 20 bullet casings on the ground at the scene.
4th Street is closed from 12th Avenue to 14th Avenue due to the investigation. Drivers should use alternate routes.
No other details have been released.
