If you are heading to work in downtown Tampa this week, you will want to give yourself plenty of time.
Not one, but two projects will be shutting down several roads.
A portion of West Kennedy Boulevard between North Ashley Drive and North Boulevard and South Plant Avenue between West Brorein Street and West Kennedy Boulevard is closed. This closure is because of a repaving project.
Also, the two westbound lanes on West Kennedy Boulevard between South Hyde Park Avenue and UT Poe Parkway are closed.
This closure is so contractors can install storm drainage facilities on the north side of West Kennedy Boulevard at the intersection of South Hyde Park Avenue.
Here’s how you can get around it:
One westbound lane on West Kennedy Boulevard between North Ashley Drive and South Hyde Park Avenue will remain open for access to South Hyde Park Avenue only.
The northbound left turn lane on South Plant Avenue between West Grand Central Avenue and West Kennedy Boulevard is also closed during the construction. Northbound motorists on South Plant Avenue will be restricted to right turns only onto West Kennedy Boulevard.
The sidewalk on the north side of West Kennedy Boulevard between South Hyde Park Avenue and UT Poe Parkway will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained on the south side of West Kennedy Boulevard at all times.
All lanes on W Kennedy Boulevard between North Ashley Drive and UT Poe Parkway and on South Plant Avenue between West Grand Central Avenue and West Kennedy Boulevard are scheduled to reopen to traffic by 4 p.m. on Friday, April 6.
