PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A standoff situation in Holiday ended peacefully Thursday afternoon after deputies say the suspect surrendered to law enforcement.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says deputies and Pasco County Fire Rescue were called about a sick person located at the Fairfield Inn and Suites at 3060 U.S. 19.
As they were trying to help the person, deputies say the individual pulled out a firearm at the first responders and was barricaded inside a hotel room.
The sheriff’s office says the person peacefully surrendered after several hours of negotiations.
Deputies say they had to clear rumors that this incident is in no way related to the search for Brian Laundrie.
No one was injured during the incident.
