DUNEDIN, Fla. (WFLA) — Drone footage shows what appears to be several dolphins swimming and trying to find food close to the shoreline in Dunedin.
WFLA viewer John Yanchrois captured ground and aerial footage of the animals enjoying the warmer weather on Thursday.
Beachgoers watched the dolphin nearby from the shoreline as it swam around and, at one point, seemingly chased some fish for an afternoon snack.
Aerial footage also shows two kayakers getting a closer look at the animal as it played in the water.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, dolphins typically use clocking as a form of finding food and navigating around. Inshore dolphins often swim in groups of four to seven in shallow waters.
The FWC reminds beachgoers to not feed or harass these wild animals, as it is against federal law and can be dangerous. Dolphins can become aggressive when looking for food and feel the need to defend their territory.
