Tornado warning issued for northwestern Pinellas County expires

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The tornado warning that was issued for northwestern Pinellas County Friday morning has expired.

The National Weather Service in Ruskin said there was a strong thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Palm Harbor early Friday morning and issued a tornado warning, telling residents to seek shelter in an interior room and avoid windows.

The warning expired at 5 a.m. ET. There have been no reports of tornadoes at this time.

The Tampa Bay area is still seeing some showers this morning. It should keep raining until about 10 a.m. Friday.
