TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Today we saw a few showers in our coastal counties through the mid morning. After that, the showers moved into our inland counties and continued to track eastward, drying us out by the evening hours.

Westerly winds will keep us warm & muggy overnight, with temperatures only sinking down into the mid to upper 70s.

Friday starts out warm and partly cloudy. We won’t see much of a chance for rain, only a 20% chance our inland counties get swiped by a few showers from the east coast of the state.

Saturday looks like the slightly wetter day of the weekend. Around 2 p.m. a few downpours will pop up along I-75 and drift slowly westward. Showers will also fire up along the east coast of the state and they will drift westward. The showers will collide over our inland counties, where they could grow in intensity and slow in forward movement- potentially resulting in high rainfall totals in some areas.

High temperatures each day through the weekend will be in the upper 80s close to 90° but it will feel more like the mid and upper 90s when you factor in the humidity.

Sunday will be the slightly drier day of the weekend, with only a 20% chance for a few inland showers. Temperatures will be warm and muggy.

Morning lows will only drop into the low to mid 70s. The overall coverage of rain will stay rather low heading into next week as this pattern continues with rain chances each day at a 20 to 30%.
