TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Today’s weather was defined by a warm onshore breeze, keeping our showers well east of most of our area and tempering our afternoon heating and evening cooling.
This evening will be slow to cool and showers will push east of our area and flourish along the east coast of the state. Temperatures will only make it down into the mid 70s thanks to the onshore breeze.
Thursday starts off a bit cloudy and muggy. Temperatures will warm into the mid to low 80s by the middle of the day. We have 40% chances for showers and most of them will be east of I-75. We can’t rule out a stray shower moving onshore from the Gulf, but it would be isolated.
Friday looks similar, but sunnier during the day. We’ll see a few afternoon showers, mainly east of I-75. The showers fade or move east of our counties around or just after sunset.
Saturday starts out muggy and sunny. We’ll see some widely scattered afternoon storms, mainly inland once again.
Sunday looks even drier, with a small chance for a pop up afternoon downpour as we top out in the upper 80s and low 90s.
Rainy season sets in next week, with more significant and consistent chances for afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
