TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Today was warm and lovely once the morning fog cleared. We made it into the upper 70s and low 80s for the afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Sunset should be beautiful at 6:09 p.m. this evening at which time we will cool from the mid 70s into the low 70s. The rest of the evening cool down will be rather sluggish, slowly sinking down through the low 70s into the mid 60s.
Sea fog will start to spread across our area from the Gulf after midnight. Expect reduced visibilities through 9a.m. The fog recedes initially from our inland counties, and may be more slow to clear along our coastline.
After the morning fog burns off, temperatures climb quickly. Highs reach the low 80s, which is nearly 10 degrees above average for late January.
Even with slightly higher humidity, we should have plenty of afternoon sunshine, and no rain is expected.
It’s a similar day Thursday with fog in the morning and a warm, dry afternoon. The humidity will be high for this time of the year, but nothing compared to our summertime humidity.
A cold front interrupts our quiet weather pattern and brings a 70% chance of showers and storms Friday afternoon. There will be cooler air behind this front, but the front lingers around through the weekend.
Temperatures drop into the low to mid 70s Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but we will not be completely dry. Watch for some morning showers Saturday and a few afternoon showers Sunday.
