UPDATE 8a.m. — After the line of strong storms pushed through overnight, we should still see a few scattered showers and storms during the day. Rain chance is about 40% for one of these showers to develop over an area.

The rain chances decrease late this afternoon. It won’t be quite as warm as the past few days with highs in the upper 70s.

It stays mild and mostly cloudy tonight. We may even see a few sprinkles tomorrow morning before sunrise, but during the day tomorrow, expect more sunshine and slightly less humidity. Afternoon highs reach 80 degrees.

UPDATE: 6:54 p.m. — A severe thunderstorm warning issued for Hillsborough County has expired.

A severe thunderstorm was located near Brandon, according to the National Weather Service. The storm was moving northeast at 10 mph.

We have a warm and somewhat humid day on tap with highs in the low 80s. Watch for a few spotty showers to form this afternoon and drift inland.

It gets much stormier around midnight. A cold front approaches and brings a chance for showers and thunderstorms overnight. Some of those storms could bring strong winds and even some small hail.

The front pushes through early tomorrow, and rain chances decrease. It won’t be much cooler behind the front. Highs stay near 80 degrees tomorrow and Thursday.

It’s even warmer Friday with highs in the low to mid 80s. The next system arrives this weekend. It won’t bring much rain on Saturday, but there’s a 50% chance of downpours Sunday as the front passes.

This front should drop temperatures for early next week. Highs return to the 70s, which is closer to average for this time of year.
