TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The showers moved onshore earlier today, making for late morning and mid day soggy moments along the coast. The showers and storms pushes further inland during the afternoon.

The storms fade or drift out of our area this evening. The evening will be quite pleasant with not AS hot temperatures thanks to the showers and a little cloudy. Overnight lows will sink down to around 80°.

It should be similar on Saturday with rain coming from the Gulf of Mexico even earlier. Once again, the showers spread across the state with some of the heavier downpours well east of I-75. That does mean a dry, not As hot evening, especially along the coast.

The pattern switches back during the day Sunday. A few spotty morning showers are possible again, but the afternoon and evening storms linger later in the day. Highs remain in the low 90s.

Next week, expect storms to be mostly after lunch with highs in the low-mid 90s.

We continue to track two tropical waves in the Atlantic, and one has a 20% chance to develop in the next five days. The system closer to the coastline of Africa has a 30% chance to develop.
