TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – We began the day with coastal showers wandering onshore that slowly moved inland. The showers are fading this evening or moving east of our area. Expect slowly clearing skies overnight, with temperatures sinking down into the upper 70s.
Thursday looks quite similar, expect another steamy day with highs in the low 90s and heat index temperatures between 100-105. Be sure to take breaks out of the heat when you can. It stays muggy overnight with lows in the upper 70s. The onshore wind pattern continues, so watch for coastal showers again tomorrow morning. Once again, the rain chance increases to 40% in the afternoon as those storms spread east. We do see the possibility of potentially heavy downpours and minor, temporary flooding.
While the weather pattern remains similar on Friday into the weekend, the chances for rain do drop slightly. On Friday we wake up to slightly fewer coastal showers wandering onshore and making their way inalnd.
Saturday looks like the driest day of the weekend, with a mere 20% chance for an isolated shower or two. As a result temperatures will top out well into the low 90s, flirting with breaking into the mid 90s.
