TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – We didn’t break any records today, but we stayed around 10 degrees above average for us for this time of the year. We topped out in the mid 80s with noticeable humidity. We saw inland showers firing up to the east of I-75, they should build as they interact with the sea breeze and eventually drift eastward, out of our area.
This evening will be mild and partly cloudy. We will only cool down into the mid to low 70s overnight. We expect patchy fog to form overnight.
Highs return to the mid 80s tomorrow, but a few of the showers may start earlier in the day near the coast. Overall, the rain chance remains at 20% tomorrow, the showers will fire up around the mid day and drift eastward during the afternoon, eventually out of our area.
Thursday’s rain will be more widespread, ahead of a front that stalls out just to the north of our area. Expect a mostly dry morning and midday, with showers and possibly storms moving in during the later afternoon and evening hours. The heaviest and most widespread rain will be along and to the north of I-4. We will dry out late Thursday evening.
While it may be slightly drier Friday, it’s still humid with highs in the mid 80s.
The big change comes Saturday with a strong cold front. That front will bring a 80% chance of showers and possibly some thunderstorms during the day on Saturday. Behind the front, temperatures drop significantly.
You’ll wake up Sunday morning in the 40s, and highs stay in the 60s. The cool-down is brief with highs back in the 70s Monday and Tuesday.
