MAX DEFENDER 8 FORECAST: Record breaking warmth this afternoon, mild evening

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – We saw record breaking warmth this afternoon, we warmed up to 85°, breaking our previous record high of 84° from 2016. That means a lovely, mild evening, slowly cooling through the 70s, eventually working into the low 60s overnight.

We expect a bank of sea fog to for late tonight into Friday morning, most of it will remain offshore, but coastal Citrus and Hernando counties may see some early morning fog on Friday. Patchy, much lighter fog is possible early Friday morning but it will dissipate quickly with our warming temperatures.

Expect another lovely and rapid warm up again Friday with highs in the low 80s. As we head into Friday evening, expect building clouds and a 10% chance of a stray shower ahead of a slow-moving cold front. It’s the same cold front causing the winter mess across much of the country today, but it will be much weaker when it finally arrives here on Saturday.

We wake up damp on Saturday morning, we will see showers pushing through overnight Friday night into Saturday morning. After that we will be cloudy and cooler, with temperatures only climbing into the upper 60s.

Sunday the front lifts back through our area and brings us a slightly better chance for showers, expect 40% chances for showers, with the heaviest rain over our inland counties. Temperatures will only hit 70°

Monday will be cloudy, cool, and mostly dry with only a 10% chance for a stray shower. Temperatures will start out in the mid 50s and only warm into the cool upper 60s.

Our next chance for showers moves in late on Tuesday into Wednesday. Temperatures will be cooler, topping out in the mid to upper 60s.
