TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – We warmed up into the record challenging lower 90s again today. That’s close to the record for today, which is 92 set just last year.
We saw fewer showers firing up this afternoon, meaning most of us are in for a dry, very slow cool down this evening. Expect clearing skies and overnight lows in the mid 70s.
We dry out even more on Friday- expect to wake up in the mid 70s and warm into the record challenging low 90s under mostly sunny skies. There is only a 10% chance for a stray shower.
A weak cold front brings a few showers on Sunday morning. Expect sunny skies behind the front and slightly lower humidity. Sunday night will be extra nice, with slightly cooler temperatures and more crisp feeling air.
Monday kicks off a short-lived round of Faux Fall! We wake up in the cool mid 60s with lower humidity. Sunny skies and mid 80s during the afternoon will feel quite lovely. Monday evening will also be stellar, with cooler temperatures and lower humidity.
The more crisp and slightly cooler temperatures don’t last, our humidity creeps up starting on Wednesday and afternoon highs are back near 90° by the end of the week.
Highs will be in the mid 80s Sunday and Monday. That is average for mid October, but the lower humidity will keep it comfortable.
Unfortunately, the less humid air is short-lived. The front lifts back to the north Tuesday, which brings back muggier air with higher rain chances for the middle of the week.
