TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — We topped out in the very muggy low 90s today, with “feels like” temperatures closer to 110°. Only a few inland storms fired up and drifted eastward through our inland counties today. Expect a slow cool down this evening.
There’s only a 10% chance for a stray shower this evening, expect partly cloudy skies and temperatures only meandering down into the upper 70s overnight.
Thursday starts out with sunshine and warms quickly. The westerly flow may bring an isolated shower or two onshore into our coastal counties during the morning to mid day, but the primary chance for showers is a 30% chances for a few inland showers and storms. Temperatures will top out well into the low 90s, feeling more like the low triple digits.
Friday starts out around 80° and warm up into the low 90s under partly cloudy skies. Expect a similar chance for isolated showers, initially along the coastline and then pushed inland by the westerly winds.
The weekend looks similar, with westerly winds keeping our overnight low around 80° and afternoon highs hitting the low 90s. Each day we expect a few isolated morning to mid day coastal showers, and a 30% chance for spotty inland showers during the afternoon hours.
The onshore flow will exacerbate the effect of red tide along our coastline.
