TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – We survived! The brutally cold weekend temperatures are in the rear view and the highly anticipated warm up has begun. We made it into the mid 60s under sunny skies today- which felt lovely after the weekend freeze.
Tonight will still be chilly, you will need a jacket around sunset and also if you are headed outside to try to catch the SpaceX Launch at 6:11p.m. At this time our temperatures will be sliding out of the low 60s and into the upper 50s. Expect clear skies overnight and temperatures dropping into the mid to upper 40s.
Tuesday starts off chilly, in the mid to upper 40s, but then goes on to win the “Most Improved” award as our temperatures soar into the mild mid 70s under mostly sunny skies.
The warming trend continues through the week. We make it into the upper 70s Wednesday and close to 80 degrees Thursday. Yay!
We are watching the forecast models for the end of the week into the weekend. It looks like a cold front will be plowing through the Southeast on Friday. One forecast models shows the front stalling out north of us, one models shows the front pushing through our area. This may change as the models get a better handle on the timing and strength of the front- but as for now we expect an isolated showers or two Friday night and scattered showers Saturday morning. The front will push us out of the 80s, but not too chilly- expect morning temperatures in the upper 50s and afternoon temperatures in the mid to low 70s.
