TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – We started off cool this morning, in the mid 60s, but warmed quickly under sunny skies into the mid to low 80s. Expect a lovely evening, cooling down into the mid 60s again overnight. The clouds that are with us this evening will clear out after midnight.

Wednesday looks pleasant with highs in the low 80s and mostly sunny skies. There is an isolated chance for a stray southern and inland shower during the evening hours, but we will be mostly dry.

Thursday begins on a cloudier note, with cool temperatures in the upper 60s. We will warm up into the low to mid 80s despite the clouds. Scattered showers and storms will begin to push into our area during the afternoon and into the evening hours ahead of the next cold front.

That front brings a 60% chance of off and on storms starting early on Friday, so make your plans accordingly. Highs will be in the 70s Friday with the rain and clouds. Friday is an Umbrella Alert Day as a result of the disruptive rounds of showers expected- don’t get caught without your rain gear.

Behind the front, we get a significant cool-down. Highs should only be in the mid 70s this weekend, and we drop into the 50s at night. Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour before going to bed Saturday night, so you get the extra hour of sleep!
