TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Today was HOT and steamy, topping out in the low 90s but feeling more like the mid to upper 90s when you consider the humidity. We will barely cool down at a slow pace this evening. Expect overnight lows only around 77°.
The few inland showers that fired up this afternoon will be pushes eastward, out of our area this evening.
Our northernmost counties may see an early shower Thursday, otherwise the front pushing through increases our rain chance to 30% during the day tomorrow. It will still be warm and breezy with highs in the upper 80s.
The front pushes through and drier air follows it, lowering our humidity and providing a brief, ever-so-slight break in the heat. On Friday we wake up at 70° feeling less humid and then warm only into the mid 80s under sunny skies.
The most exciting part of this week’s forecast will be Saturday morning’s cool, crisp, refreshing temperatures- we start the day around 63°. We then warm into the mid to upper 80s under sunny skies, with low humidity.
For Mother’s Day we wake up in the upper 60s and still enjoy the lower humidity. Expect a warm afternoon topping out in the upper 80s.
Saturday and Sunday morning’s cool temperatures could be our final foray into the 60s for this season, we probably won’t get back down there until the Fall.
Humidity builds again to start the week.
