TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Today was cloudy and cool, we failed to warm up thanks to cloudy skies and colder air moving through behind a cold front that brought us showers last night. A cool, gusty breeze kept things feeling cooler, especially along the coast.

Expect gradual clearing overnight, especially north of I-4 overnight. It turns chilly quickly this evening as temperatures drop into the upper 40s under clear skies and light winds tonight.

After the chilly start in the 40s for Valentine’s Day, it warms up very nicely with lots of sunshine and highs in the low 70s Wednesday afternoon. If you have evening plans for Valentine’s Day, temperatures will be dropping into the mid 60s.

It will be dry and milder for the rest of the week with highs back in the mid 70s for Thursday and Friday.

Rain chances go back up this weekend with a front coming in and stalling out over the area.

Although we’re still working on a few details, it does look like a potentially soggy weekend. It will also be cooler by Sunday with highs back in the low 60s. Sunday with highs back in the low 60s.
