TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Today was hot, we topped out in the mid 90s, but we were shy of our record of 98°. We saw a few more storms fire up, especially over our inland areas during the evening hours.
The rain should fade after sunset and the skies will clear out overnight. Temperatures will slowly cool into the upper 70s and low 80s overnight.
The chances for showers start a little earlier tomorrow. Spotty storms form near the coast in the mid-morning before pushing inland. They may drift back our towards the coastline late as they fade after sunset. Our winds will be very light, so the storms will move very slowly, creating the potential for heavy rainfall. Highs will be in the low 90s.
We’ll have likely afternoon and early evening storms for the second half the week and into the weekend, and highs will stay in the low-mid 90s.
Right now it looks like the rai chances on Thursday will be more limited, thanks to drier air moving into our area.
Still no tropical development expected in the first five days of August. Whoo Hooo!
