A real-life Paddington Bear who suffered brutal treatment by his captors has found a new home in a zoo in Bolivia.
According to local media, this spectacled bear was rescued from a rural area and is now awaiting his new home in the municipal zoo in La Paz.
The bear is receiving round-the-clock medical treatment from eight veterinarians. When local authorities found him, he had been brutally beaten and lost an eye.
After undergoing surgery, the bear, Ajayu, is gaining strength and responding well to his new environment. He is now reportedly eating well and gaining weight. And eye specialists are trying to help him regain his sight.
Spectacled bears live in mountainous regions in several South American countries, including Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru.
