TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A police pursuit of a car burglary suspect has ended in a multi-vehicle crash. The pursuit started in Tampa and ended in Kissimmee.

The crash happened at the intersection of US 192 and Westside Boulevard in Osceola County.

According to the Tampa Police Department, officers responded to the report of six car burglaries within one mile of each other Wednesday morning. At one of the locations, the suspect’s vehicle was listed as a white SUV, possibly a Honda.

A gun was reported stolen from one of the burglarized cars, police say.

Later on, additional calls came in to TPD reporting more car burglaries in relatively close proximity to each other.

Police say two of the complaints noted the suspect’s vehicle was a white Honda SUV, which was reported stolen to the Kissimmee Police Department.

Around 1 p.m., Tampa police officers spotted the white Honda SUV near the 3000 block of E. Melburne Blvd. The tag matched the suspect vehicle from the auto burglaries. Officers tried to attempt a traffic stop, however, the suspects fled.

TPD said officers went on a pursuit of the Honda and contacted Florida Highway Patrol troopers to help in the chase.

The suspects eventually went on to I-4 eastbound and were followed by officers and troopers.

Troopers say they took over the pursuit once the car reached Polk County.

At exit 55 on I-4, the suspect drove north and then east onto US-192, where they later crashed around 1:45, according to FHP and TPD.

Tampa police say the suspects crashed into a 67-year-old man from Davenport, who was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. He remains in critical condition on Thursday.

Troopers say three people were arrested following the pursuit and crash: a 16-year-old male driver, an 18-year-old male passenger, and a 20-year-old male passenger.

Police say the 16-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital for injuries. He has been charged with fleeing to elude, grand theft auto, and auto burglary.

The 18-year-old, Alonso Maxine, has been charged with auto burglary and the 20-year-old, Jonathan Desroches, has been charged with auto burglary. Desroches also had a handgun on him during his arrest.

Police say other guns were also found in the car following the crash.
