The Summer Olympics in Rio will start this Friday with the Opening Ceremony, in what is always a spectacle, an extravaganza, a resplendent welcome to the world.
“Opening Ceremonies is really unlike anything else. There is so much pride there. I love seeing people from all different countries and different sports, and it’s just a time where you get to take in the moment,” runner Allyson Felix said.
The Opening Ceremony for the Rio Olympic Games can be seen August 5 on News Channel 8. News Channel 8’s Paul Ryan will be in Rio with live reports during the Olympics, which run from Aug. 5 – 21.
