You won’t believe what Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps used to eat for breakfast. Every day he had three fried egg sandwiches, an omelet, a bowl of grits, three pieces of French toast and three chocolate chip pancakes.
Training for a spot at the Olympics – and a medal – is grueling, but eating is a rare perk in the regimen for athletes.
The Opening Ceremony for the Rio Olympic Games can be seen August 5 on News Channel 8. News Channel 8’s Paul Ryan will be in Rio with live reports during the Olympics, which run from Aug. 5 – 21.
