Rio Olympian Kanak Jha on ‘Nightly’: “You just want to win”

16-year-old Kanak Jha is the youngest of all 554 U.S. athletes at the 2016 Rio Games – but, as explored in a Wednesday night segment of “NBC Nightly News”, he might also be his country’s best hope for a table tennis medal.

In the piece, Jha discusses his age, his California roots and his passion for the sport.

“He’s kind of like a dog that bites onto your leg and just won’t let go, no matter how hard you shake him off,” teammate Timothy Wang said of Jha in the piece.

NBCOlympics.com profiled Jha last month at a USA Table Tennis fundraiser in New Jersey.
