Lightning fans are arguably the most creative fans in the league. In fact, those with a deep love for the Bolts are so unique, they even have their own way of describing how they feel about the team’s Stanley Cup playoffs run.
We’re talking about some serious passion, loyalty and dedication.
So, when News Channel 8 went one-on-one with fans at Sunday’s game, we’re prepared to hear wild stories and descriptive emotions.
And just before the puck dropped, we heard quite possibly, the best description ever during an interview at Ferg’s Live.
Tom McSherry gave us the giggles and had us smiling from ear to ear as he explained what it felt like to see his team this close and what it would feel like to bring home a win tonight. He likened it to having a baby.
“We’ll be giving birth to a win around 6:30,” he said with a smile.
When we asked him to name the baby, without missing a beat, he smiled a wide smile and said, “win baby.”
Yep, mic drop. Best. Answer. Ever.
Our hats go off to Tom for giving us one of the most entertaining analogies we’ve we’ve ever heard when it comes to winning. Nothing would make us happier than to be the proud parents of #WinBaby tonight.
