TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)- Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback, Vernon Hargreaves, has shown signs of greatness, but needs to find a way to consistently showcase just how good he can be at the professional level.

He’ll be entering his third year in the NFL and is now fully healthy after a hamstring injury slowed him down in 2017.

He only played in 9 of 16 games with the Bucs after starting all 16 back in 2016.

The former Florida Gator totaled only 37 tackles and realizes he has a lot to prove this season.

When asked by WFLA’s Annie Sabo if outside criticism affects his mentality heading into the season, Hargreaves said “We don’t listen to that. We can’t listen to that. It will affect us…it’s just like poison. We don’t listen to that. We’re worried about us, we got to take care of ourselves, and then the rest will take care of itself.”
