TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers boast the shortest travel route to the 2019 Pro Bowl which will be held again in Orlando, but or now, no Bucs players are slated to make the trip, although late additions are possible.

The NFL announced the rosters for the Pro Bowl on Tuesday and the Bucs were the only team in the NFC without a player selected to the roster.

The only other teams in the league without a Pro Bowl player are the Buffalo Bills and the Oakland Raiders.

It is the first time since 2009 that a Bucs player was not voted in.

While the Bucs are headed to a second consecutive losing season, they have players that are worthy of the league’s annual showcase during the week before the Super Bowl.

Wide receiver Mike Evans is second in the league in receiving yards (1,328) but was not one of the four NFC receivers chosen.

Evans is a first alternate and will likely wind up playing in Orlando.

Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul will have to wait to see if he ends up being a Pro Bowler this season. Pierre-Paul has 11.5 quarterback sacks, tied for 12th in the NFL, but is a third alternate for the game.

Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was in search of his seventh consecutive selection but came up short in the voting.

The six-time Pro Bowler was looking to match Hall of Famer Warren Sapp’s Bucs record of seven straight appearances.
