Buccaneers players often do great work in the Tampa Bay community, and Donovan Smith is no exception.

Later this month, the left tackle will host his 2nd Annual Bowling for Autism Event. The event helps raise money for Autism Speaks.

Donovan says the cause and the organization are close to his heart because his nephew is on the autism spectrum. He stopped by News Channel 8 Friday morning to talk about this year’s event.

This year’s charity bowling event is being held at Pin Chasers on Armenia Avenue in Tampa from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, May 13.

There is a $100 registration fee if you want to bowl. That includes two hours of bowling with rental shoes included. If you just want to watch, there is a $75 spectator fee. All of the money will go to benefit Autism Speaks.

Other Tampa Bay Buccaneers players are expected to attend the event. Everyone who takes part will have the opportunity to take pictures with the players. You can also win Bucs memorabilia, prizes and autographs.

You can learn more about the event and sign up to get involved on the Autism Speaks website.
