(NEXSTAR)- House lawmakers on Monday looked at how voter ID laws and other voting requirements can affect access to the ballot. Right now H.R. 1—a voting reform bill that passed the house in March—is stalled in the Senate. Democrats say the bill is critical to counter state laws that they argue restrict access to the ballot, but Republicans say the bill is unnecessary.
