Woman facing charges in road rage incident at St. Pete McDonald’s drive-through

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A woman is facing charges after surveillance cameras recorded a road rage incident at a McDonald’s drive-through in St. Pete.

Police arrested Andrea Depatie on Friday.

Police say it happened at 5:38 p.m. on Oct. 16. Depatie followed another woman into the drive-through of the McDonald’s at 9600 4th St. N. as a result of a road rage incident.

The victim is Renee Durkin.  She said her two children were in the car with her when the incident happened.

Detectives said Durkin accidentally cut Depatie off, turning into the McDonald’s.

Police said Depatie followed Durkin.

“The lady in the silver Nissan pulled in behind her, got out of the driver’s seat, walked up to the other lady, opened her driver’s door, reached in, yelled at her and then smacked her in the right side of the face,” said Rick Shaw with the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Depatie gets back in the Nissan and drives away.

Those visiting the McDonald’s Wednesday said the road rager, went too far.

“I could kind of expect it every once in a while but this is a little scary here in the drive-thru,” said Brad Hamlin.

“If you pull into a spot and somebody keeps following you, get on the phone call for help, because if they’re following you, they’re probably pretty angry,” said Shaw. “Don’t take things personally. We have all cut somebody off accidentally in traffic.”

Depatie is charged with burglary/battery in connection with the incident.
