TALLAHASSEE, FL (Capitol News Service) – The Department of State needs your help finding a candidate whose statue should be enshrined in Washington, DC as a representative of Florida.
The Florida legislature voted earlier this year to remove the statue of Confederate General Edmund Kirby Smith from the U.S. Capitol. Lawmakers say it’s because that Florida man didn’t spend much time in Florida. Now they need a great woman or man from Florida to replace him, our Tallahassee News Bureau reports.
Senator Marco Rubio tweeted out a picture of Tim Tebow as his pick. John Thrasher, the Florida State University President, is convinced it needs to be Bobby Bowden, according to our Tallahassee News Bureau.
