BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) – Some people in Bradenton are still waterlogged from Hermine and others continue filling sandbags for the possibility of more water as Hurricane Hermine moves closer to Florida.

Sandbag locations are open across the county Thursday and people are taking full advantage.

Public Works crews will continue to distribute sandbags through 7 p.m. Thursday at the following five locations:

  • Buffalo Creek Park, 7550 69th St E Palmetto
  • T. Bray Park, 5502 33rd Ave Dr. W Bradenton
  • Lakewood Ranch Park, 5350 Lakewood Ranch Blvd Bradenton
  • Stormwater Ops, 5511 39th St E Bradenton
  • Rubonia Community Center, 1309 72nd St E Palmetto

“We’re going to continue seeing rain today and on Friday, to what extent we don’t know,”  Emergency Management Chief Don Hermey said. “We’re focusing on the ‘Turn around don’t drown’ message because there’s water on the road and people should avoid those roads.”
