PERU (WFLA) – A pooch tried to brave a flooded river in Peru but didn’t have enough strength to get out. A local taxi driver saw the dog struggle and pulled it to safety, NBC reported sharing the video of the rescue.
It happened after a flooding near Arequipa, Peru, in the Chili River. The dog was stranded on a rock and decided to try and swim to safety.
The video shows the pup trying to climb on a bridge and falling into water again. People on the bridge could only watch how the dog was being tossed around in the raging river. Finally, the poor pup reached some rock formation and a local taxi driver climbed down and pulled the dog out. He said he couldn’t watch the dog die.
The dog was taken to a local shelter to be treated for leg injuries. The shelter workers named the dog Chili after the river.THE STORIES OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON:
