(WFLA) — Yep, you read that right. Netflix subscribers can now download movies and TV shows to watch anytime and anywhere – with no internet connection.
Netflix said in a blog post Tuesday night, “Many of your favorite streaming series and movies are already available for download, with more on the way, so there is plenty of content available for those times when you are offline. For example, Orange is The New Black, Narcos and The Crown are available for download today.”
Netflix isn’t the first streaming tycoon to introduce a downloading feature, though. Amazon released a similar program to the Prime video streaming over a year ago.
Netflix hasn’t discussed the quantity of files you can download yet, but their help page does say there are two different quality standards for downloads. The company also warns the higher quality video will take longer to download and use up more space on your device.
