(WNBC/UGC) – A Marine returning home from deployment in Afghanistan decided to surprise his son at a Little League baseball game—and it was caught on video.
Ryan Batista can be seen headed for the batter’s box when it’s announced there would be a pitching change.
Ryan didn’t notice the new pitcher walking to the mound was his father, Staff Sergeant Steve Batista.
The father threw a pitch before his son even realized what was happening. Then the little boy charged the mound and jumped into his dad’s arms.
He hadn’t seen his father for ten months.
Soon, the entire family was out on the field sharing lots of hugs.
