A swarm of mayflies was spotted at a Louisiana gas station.
Lauren Ogles Lairse shot this video showing the skin-crawling sight in Slidell on Monday night.
The bugs can be seen swarming the gas pumps.
Her daughter – Harmony Joy – can be heard in the background saying what we’re all thinking: “I wanna get out of here!”
“It’s OK. They are not going to get you. They are outside,” mom is heard saying in the video.
Mayflies live about 12 to 24 hours. They are very attracted to light, which may be the reason the bugs flocked to the gas station.
Mayflies also develop in freshwater streams.
