Hours after saying “I do,” the Duchess of Sussex is already carrying on her late mother-in-law’s legacy in the most stylish and touching way.
According to Today.com, Markle wore Princess Diana’s aquamarine ring to her wedding reception as her something blue.
The cocktail ring was a gift from Prince Harry following their wedding at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Saturday.
According to People, Diana famously wore the emerald cut gemstone to an auction of her own wardrobe at Christie’s in 1997, two months before she died. Diana wore it with an aquamarine bracelet connected by five strands of pearls. It’s unclear if Markle is now in possession of the entire set.
The couple also honored Diana’s memory during their nuptials on Saturday. According to Today, the Duchess of Sussex’s bridal bouquet contained forget-me-nots, which were Diana’s favorite flowers.
Markle’s engagement ring also contains two diamonds from Diana’s personal collection.
