A recent Wayfair ad that has been popping up on social media accounts, such as Facebook and Instagram, has caught the eyes of users not for its popularity but for its bizarre design.
The company known for its catchy commercial tunes and home goods has started advertising a product, many times without any context or captions.
The ad shows a smiling woman sitting in a zip-up gray box that’s only revealing her head.
On Wayfair’s website, the product is listed as ‘Salem 1 Person FAR Infrared Sauna,’ a lightweight, portable sauna. The company describes the product as “a great way to relax, stay fit and keep yourself healthy wherever you are!”
This was an ad on my @instagram a few days ago, and I’m still confused. @Wayfair what is this and why is it $186? pic.twitter.com/oXrdkXaDed— Leigha Williams (@leighalovegood) July 16, 2018
After seeing the random ad one day on Instagram, one woman went to Twitter and wrote, “This was an ad on my @instagram a few days ago, and I’m still confused. @Wayfair what is this and why is it $186?”
Wayfair responded saying, “Hi Leigha – thanks for asking! It’s a portable sauna. For more options, visit us directly at http://Wayfair.com.”
Another person wondered if they were being tricked.
