DUNELLEN, NJ (WFLA) — A New Jersey man built an incredibly tiny drum set, and you’ll never believe how great they sound.

He said he wanted to make an instrument his puppets could play, and his craft turned into something much greater. Ricky Syers said these are the smallest playable drums he has ever seen adding, “I can pound on these.”

And he does. Check out the video above to listen for yourself.

Syers modeled these miniature drums from the 1970 Ludwig Vistalite drum sets. The puppet that originally played them even sports the iconic 70s headband.

Syers handcrafted the drums from broken wrenches, t-rods and by cutting and hammering brass together. He said this project took him eight days, but his work isn’t done.

Syers said his video, which has made its way around social media, has over 25 million views and counting.

“It’s a little confusing,” Syers said about navigating his way around the viral media world. “It’s a surprise to me how this took off.”

Syer’s said we can expect much more from his puppet’s playing instruments because he is “broke with hope.” He said he loves what he does, and plans to keep the creativity going.
