AUSTRALIA (WFLA) — The Sea World Rescue Team freed a humpback whale calf in distress, when it got caught in shark protective netting in Australia.
The 30-minute rescue took place on Saturday off of a beach in the western Australian city of Cold Coast.
The rescue team said the mother humpback whale was trying to push the calf above water repeatedly to make sure it was able to breathe.
After the calf was freed, the team said the pair swam away calmly and seemed to be in good health.
