Lisa’s frustrated by people who hog the left lane on multi-lane roads. Here’s Florida’s law regarding left lanes: On roads with two or more lanes going in the same direction, you need to stay out of the left lane if you know, or reasonably should know, that drivers behind you are trying to get by. That applies even if you’re traveling above the posted speed limit. If you’re caught clogging up the left lane, you could get a ticket worth $179 and three points on your driver’s license.
Lori wants to know what the rules are when it comes to driving in fog, and who is to blame if you hit a driver who didn’t have their fog lights on?
Florida law is simple: if there’s fog, your low beams should be on. Not using them is against the law. A driver involved in a crash in foggy conditions may be cited, but the failure to use headlights would be just one factor considered in a crash investigation.
Steve rants about drivers who round their turns, veering into other lanes. FHP says the rules are clear: stay in your lane. Whatever lane you’re in entering an intersection should be the lane you’re in when you exit the intersection.
