Hillsborough County’s updated Capital Improvements Projects (CIP) mapping system is online, providing a significantly more user-friendly way to search for updated information on all Public Works projects that are underway, or in the planning stages, than the previous system. The new maps use Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to plot all of the county’s projects, as well as information, on the hundreds of CIP projects in the planning, design, or construction phases.

The updated tool allows County residents to filter projects by type, phase, or location. Zooming in to a neighborhood or district provides information on all projects underway, as well as information on what each project includes, the cost of the construction, a status report from design through completion, and contact information for the person in charge of the work. Some of the projects will include updated photos of the progress.

The Public Works departments contributing to the CIP Mapping tool include:

Each project includes the option to download and print a PDF version of the information.

The County says a smartphone version of the tool will be available soon.

Here’s how to access the CIP Project Map Viewer:

  • Go to HillsboroughCounty.org
  • Click on the Government tab
  • Click on County Capital Improvements Projects
  • Click on View The Map
