TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Authorities are investigating a fatal crash involving a dump truck on U.S. Highway 301 in Wimauma.
The crash happened on U.S. 301 just south of Lightfoot Road on Monday afternoon.
A vehicle was stopped on Lightfoot Road, at the intersection of US-301. Another vehicle, a dump truck, a 57-year-old man, was driving south and as the first vehicle began to turn into its path.
To avoid a collision, the dump truck driver over corrected, traveled in to the east shoulder and overturned.
The second driver died at the scene of the crash.
