TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A pedestrian was struck and killed after he walked in front of a car on Interstate 75 in Tampa Saturday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to the report, the incident occurred at about 7 a.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of I-75 right before Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.
The pedestrian, a 23-year-old man from Tampa, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 51-year-old Marco Island man, was not hurt, according to troopers.
The crash was blocking northbound traffic for a few hours Saturday. Traffic started moving smoothly around 10:15 a.m.
