A toddler fell from a window on the third floor of an apartment complex in Port Richey on Thursday, according to the Pasco County Fire Rescue.
The incident occurred in the 8200 block of Alnwick Circle.
The 3-year-old was flown to the hospital as a trauma alert.
Preliminary information indicates that a babysitter left the child alone for only seconds to use the bathroom when the child climbed on the bed to, in his words, “look at the sky.”
The window was open and investigators believe the child leaned agains the screen and fell out.
His fall may have been partially cushioned by bushes on the ground.
The child is reportedly doing okay and suffered no broken bones or serious injuries.
The sheriff’s office said the incident appears to be an accident.
