TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — To a crowd of thousands, Donald Trump spoke for about 45 minutes at the Tampa Convention Center on Saturday morning. Trump has made multiple visits to the Tampa Bay area throughout his election campaign, highlighting Florida’s status as an important battleground state.

The line to see Mr. Trump began early this morning, with hundreds of supporters lining up as early as 4 a.m. to snag a front-row spot. Inside the Convention Center, supporters defended Mr. Trump, brushing off his so-called controversial comments.

“I take them lightly. He speaks his mind, and not all men say the right thing at the right time,” said Trump supporter Theresa Sorenson.

Introduced by supporters Attorney General Pam Bondi and Florida Governor Rick Scott, his talking points were mostly on target with his previous stops, covering political policy including his proposed wall between Mexico and the United States.

Another proposal made at the rally? Who should join Trump on the GOP ticket this November as Vice President.

“Everybody wants to know who I am going to pick as Vice President. Who do you like? He says Newt Gingrich, They say sessions, he says Condi Rice,” Mr. Trump said, taking suggestions from the crowd.

“I’ve never done this before, this is fun!” Trump continued.

With a little more than a month before delegates convene in Cleveland for the GOP Convention, Trump concluded his visit with an enthusiastic, “I love you, Tampa!” and claims he will be back again soon.

After his rally in Tampa, Donald Trump will make his way Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for a campaign rally there.WHAT OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON
