(WFLA) – Target is hiring. The retail giant issued a press release Monday stating that it is looking for more than 70,000 new team members to help make holiday shopping season magic.
The 70,000 positions will open at stores and about 7,500 more will be at the distribution and fulfillment facilities for the holiday season.
“The Target team is famous for serving up exceptional shopping experiences,” says Janna Potts, chief stores officer, Target. “We can’t wait to welcome new seasonal team members on board to help us make the holidays extra bright for our guests. And new this year, all of our 1,800 stores will host dedicated hiring events in October, meeting with thousands of prospective candidates in just 48 hours.”
The distribution and fulfillment employees will help restock the stores as well as fulfilling the online orders.
target promised that their full-time workers get to pick as many holiday extra hours as they want before the seasonal workers get hired. Target said even people without retail experience can apply, the company will provide plenty of training.
The hiring events will take place at the stores nationwide on October 14-15.
