TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Drivers should expect increased traffic in Tampa from Thursday, July 21, to Sunday, July 24.

Metrocon begins at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tampa Convention Center. Around 10,000 people are expected to attend daily.

“The community should expect traffic congestion as well as increased pedestrian traffic around the Convention Center during this time,” Tampa police said.

In addition, on Saturday there is a Tampa Bay Storm game at the Amalie Arena at 5 p.m. This will further increase vehicle and pedestrian traffic, police said.

“Please plan ahead for possible delays and caution in the area,” officials encouraged.
