T2 Trainspotting actor murdered in Scotland

(WFLA) – T2 Trainspotting actor Bradley Welsh was shot and killed in Edinburgh, Scotland on Wednesday evening.

Edinburgh police are investigating the 42-year-old actor’s death as a murder. Police said they received multiple reports about shots fired in the city’s West End area around 8 p.m.

Officers and emergency crews arrived to find Welsh lying on a staircase. He died at the scene.

“At this time our deepest sympathies are with this man’s family and a significant inquiry is now underway to trace everyone who was involved in the murder,” said Edinburgh police in a statement.

“Murders remain extremely rare in the Capital, and such incidents where a firearm are used are even more uncommon. However, we wish to reassure the public that considerable resources are being dedicated to this inquiry and we are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness.”

Police will be looking at recordings obtained from nearby surveillance cameras as part of their investigation. They are also asking anyone with information or car dashcam video to come forward.

Police believe the murder was an isolated incident. However, they are increasing patrols in the area.
